Mercyhurst University Residence Life strives to provide a living environment that enables each student to develop holistically through educational opportunities. We recognize that learning extends well beyond the classroom and continues into the area in which students live.

As freshmen at Mercyhurst, our students have two housing options available, Baldwin Hall and Warde Hall, with each providing a unique campus experience.

Baldwin Hall

Baldwin Hall is a residence hall housing approximately 160 students and is staffed by a graduate-level Hall Director and six upperclassmen Resident Assistants. Centrally located within the freshman area, this hall offers double occupancy rooms.

Additionally, the hall is in close proximity to the Mercyhurst Athletic Center (MAC), the Herrmann Student Union, Performing Arts Center (PAC), the newly renovated Egan Dining Hall, and academic buildings.

  • Large lounge at entrance
  • All-purpose lounges (flat screen TVs on each floor)
  • Single and double rooms available
  • Furnished rooms (standard twin bed, dresser, desk, desk chair and closet per resident)
  • Large windows in each room
  • Semi-private bathrooms (shared by two rooms)
  • Individually controlled heating
  • Vending machines on first floor
  • A kitchen and microwave on each floor
  • Laker Vapor (high speed internet)
  • Basic cable services
  • Free laundry services on each floor

Warde Hall

Warde Hall houses 360 residents. All rooms are triple occupancy (doubles may be available with special approval), with residents sharing a room and a full bathroom. Warde Hall is staffed by the Assistant Director, a graduate-level Hall Director and 12 upperclassmen Resident Assistants.

  • A full-size kitchen on the first floor
  • A recreation room (two treadmills, one elliptical, one exercise bike and one weight machine)
  • A multi-media room
  • Meeting rooms
  • Study lounges
  • All-purpose lounges (including flat screen TVs on each floor)
  • A microwave on each floor
  • Double and triple occupancy rooms
  • Furnished rooms (twin XL bed, dresser, desk, and desk chair per resident; students in triple rooms are also alloted one loft kit to maximize floor space)
  • Private, full bathrooms in each room
  • Individually controlled air conditioning and heating
  • Many rooms overlooking the football field
  • Free laundry services on each floor

Additional furniture has been added to some rooms in Warde Hall to accommodate three students. Each student will have his or her own bed, dresser, desk and chair. Triples in Warde will also have two closets and a private bathroom shared by three students. Students will be able to loft and/or bunk the beds, or remove one of the desks from the room, in order to optimize the living space according to their preferences. At approximately 300-square-feet, rooms in Warde are the largest of all the freshman residence halls. The sizeable rooms and modular nature of the furniture allow for a variety of different room configurations, and we anticipate students in triples will have enough space to live comfortably and feel at home.
