Image of the Month: Mother Borgia Egan and Colleagues
Mother Borgia Egan sitting with students and sisters at Mercyhurst College. Mother Borgia founded the school in 1926 and served as the first president. As an advocate of women's higher education, she believed that women should have the same chances and opportunities that men do.
Did you know? Mercyhurst conducted cancer research
The Archives has digitized two scrapbooks containing information from Sister Mary Eymard Poydock who conducted cancer research from 1965-1988. The results of the findings were broadcast coast to coast on CBS under the title "Report on Medicine."
New content: The collection of Sr. Carolyn Herrmann
The Sr. Carolyn Herrmann collection has been digitized. Sr. Carolyn was president of Mercyhurst from 1963-1972. The collection consists of many of the speeches given by her and several photographs depicting her time at Mercyhurst.
