This program enables college graduates to fulfill the admissions requirements of many post-baccalaureate health professional programs, including medicine, dentistry, osteopathy, veterinary science, and physical therapy. It is intended primarily for those with bachelor's degrees in fields other than science, as well as those with a minor in a science field. All students will pursue an individualized plan of study based on their prior preparation and education plans.

The post-baccalaureate certificate in Health Sciences/Pre-Health Professions is not an easy undertaking. Nor is it a fast way around the fundamentals required for a student to attain a health career. Mercyhurst University offers the academic program and the certificate to encourage students who have undergraduate backgrounds in Behavioral Science, Humanities, and other fields to pursue their dreams of becoming outstanding students and practitioners of the health professions.
