Homecoming '26: Celebrate our Centennial Homecoming with special activities

Mercyhurst Football fans Homecoming 2026 story

Mercyhurst University’s Centennial Homecoming & Family Weekend takes place Thursday, Sept. 17, through Sunday, Sept. 20, and we’re so excited to celebrate a Homecoming like no other!

We hope you’ll join us for this historic weekend, as we’ve planned a schedule jam-packed with tradition, pride, and special moments to commemorate a century of Hurst being Home. This year’s celebration features cherished traditional festivities, such as the alumni tailgate, bonfire, and department and team gatherings. Cheer on our Laker DI athletic teams playing home games, including football, field hockey, women’s ice hockey, and both men’s and women’s soccer. We’re also hosting unique Centennial events you won’t want to miss!

Kick off this exciting weekend with our Welcome Home Gathering at the Roost on Thursday, Sept. 17. And that’s when the party’s just getting started! The rest of the weekend features Centennial campus tours, Mass, brunch with the Sisters of Mercy, and the Club 1926 Centennial Party, where we will be honoring all past Distinguished Alumni who’ve stood out in their fields, communities, and here at Mercyhurst.

Fun Fact: Sunday, Sept. 20, marks the exact 100th anniversary of the first day of classes at Mercyhurst College, making this Mass extra meaningful!
