Dr. Akyol is an Assistant Professor and teaches courses in international relations and comparative politics. Her research is in the intersection of conflict management, human rights, and peacebuilding. In addition, her research agenda also focuses on ethnic conflicts, and area-wise, Dr. Akyol has special interests in the Middle East and Africa. Her work is published in Journal of Asian and African Studies and Contemporary Islam. Dr. Akyol’s teaching interests cover peace and security studies, human rights, Middle Eastern politics, international organizations, and political economy.
