Since joining the Mercyhurst faculty as an adjunct in 2015, Ed has taught Contemporary Leadership in Intelligence and Social Media Analysis online. Before joining the online faculty, Ed served 30 years in the United States Air Force as an intelligence officer moving from the tactical to the strategic level, and in multiple intelligence community organizations. His travels took him throughout Europe and the Middle East. Upon retiring he entered the world of law enforcement focusing on drug trafficking through the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Program (HIDTA) where he served as Deputy Director and Intelligence Center Manager for seven years prior to being selected to be Director for an additional six years. Looking for a slightly reduced pace in retirement, he became a contractor, teaching intelligence courses for law enforcement with the U.S. Department of State – Diplomatic Security Service – Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program in over 30 “very interesting” locations in Asia, Africa, and the Middle/Southwest Asia. His favorite professional experience to date:  HIDTA Program/ATA contract teaching. His least favorite experience:  Observing the destruction of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990. Ed’s hobbies include biking, scuba diving, skiing, hiking and travel.
