Department Chair, Associate Professor
Dr. Jones received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Georgia Tech in 2003, where he explored the synthesis and characterization of hydrogel polymers in the form of microgels. He earned his B.S. in chemistry (summa cum laude) from Georgia Tech as well, with a minor concentration in physics.
Dr. Jones' postdoctoral experience involved the creation of artificial cells composed of lipid vesicles and aqueous-based polymers at Penn State University. His current research interests involve the analytical applications of polymers as applied to environmental chemistry and biomedicine. Dr. Jones teaches General Chemistry I/II, Quantitative Analysis, Physics Lab, and general science offerings such as Writing and Communication for Scientists, and Introduction to Astronomy.
