Freshman Housing

Mercyhurst University Residence Life strives to provide a living environment that enables each student to develop holistically through educational opportunities. We recognize that learning extends well beyond the classroom and continues into the area in which students live.

Freshman at Mercyhurst have three living options: Baldwin Hall, an all-female residence hall; McAuley Hall, an all-male residence hall; and Warde Hall, which houses both males and females.

Baldwin Hall - All Female

Baldwin Hall is a female-only residence hall housing approximately 160 students and is staffed by a graduate-level Hall Director and six upperclassmen Resident Assistants. Centrally located within the freshman area, this hall offers double occupancy rooms, as well as a limited number of singles.

Additionally, the hall is in close proximity to the Mercyhurst Athletic Center (MAC), the Herrmann Student Union, Performing Arts Center (PAC), Grotto Commons dining hall, and academic buildings.

McAuley Hall - All Male

McAuley Hall is a male-only residence hall housing 140 students and is staffed by a graduate–level Hall Director and six upperclassmen Resident Assistants. This historic building has single and double rooms available with common bathroom facilities on each wing (cleaned by our housekeeping staff daily). Additionally, the hall is in close proximity to the Mercyhurst Athletic Center (MAC), the Herrmann Student Union, the newly renovated Egan Dining Hall, Hammermill Library, and academic buildings.

Warde Hall - Coed

Warde Hall houses 360 male and female residents. Warde Hall is staffed by the Assistant Director, a graduate-level Hall Director and 8 upperclassmen Resident Assistants. Rooms in Warde Hall can accommodate triple occupancy with residents sharing a room and a full bathroom.

Additional furniture has been added to most rooms in Warde Hall to accommodate three students. Students have their own bed, dresser, desk, and chair. These rooms in Warde also have two closets and a private bathroom shared by two-three students. Students are able to bunk the beds from the room to optimize the living space according to their preferences. At approximately 300 square feet, rooms in Warde are the largest of all the freshman residence halls; the sizeable rooms and modular nature of the furniture allow for a variety of room configurations, and  rooms have sufficient space to live comfortably.
