Molly Tarvin has been at Mercyhurst since 2022 and delights in the opportunity to expand the University’s sustainable commitments. With the release of the 2024 Sustainability Strategic Plan, the Office of Sustainability is challenging the campus community to consider sustainability in the holistic sense, understanding the environmental, economic, and social components of daily operations.

    The Office of Sustainability accepts five work studies a semester, in which students explore and create their own sustainability projects. The Sustainability Club is also available to participate in fun activities and help design an annual club project. With the launch of the Sustainability Studies major, internships will be available for upperclassmen to work in the office and campus-wide initiatives as they fit with their research and career interests. Campus community members can also submit a Sustainability Fund proposal, which grants funding to sustainability projects.
