Mercyhurst named Military Friendly School

Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Mercyhurst University has been named a Military Friendly School for 2016. The Military Friendly® Schools ranking, established by Victory Media, places the university among the top 20 percent of U.S. higher education institutions that value, recruit and support military students and veterans.

“Mercyhurst University is honored to receive this important designation,” said Mercyhurst University President Michael T. Victor. “The university is committed to offering an outstanding education to our veterans, as well as the resources and services to make their educational goals attainable.”

Mercyhurst openly welcomes students who have served the United States in the Active Duty Military, the Reserves or the National Guard. The university participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, established by the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. The program affords higher education institutions the opportunity to voluntarily work with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist in funding tuition and fee expenses.

In addition, Mercyhurst partners with Gannon University and Penn State Behrend to offer the Army Reserves Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program, the “Pride of PA” Battalion.
