In-person concerts re-emerge after year’s absence due to pandemic

Wednesday, September 08, 2021

nathan hessAfter a year’s absence, the Hill is once again alive with music as the D’Angelo Department of Music at Mercyhurst University returns its Faculty Recital Series, ensemble performances, the Roche Guest Artists Series, and more.

All events are in person, although some will also be livestreamed. The first, a Faculty Collage performance, is tonight at 8 in Walker Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public and may also be viewed via livestream.

In announcing the return to in-person performances, Dr. Nathan Hess, chair of the D’Angelo Department of Music, said, “We are excited to return to live, in-person performances, both for our students and the community. While we see this as a return to a more normal operating semester, we are still being very cautious with respect to the virus in our day-to-day instruction and rehearsal settings. Everyone is looking forward once again to making music together.”
