Celebrate the holidays in 10-part harmony at Mercyhurst
The TEN Tenors mark the final performance of MIAC’s fall season
Holiday favorites such as “Feliz Navidad” and “Winter Wonderland” will be reimagined with incredible 10-part harmonies and smooth choreography when world-famous Australian vocal ensemble, The TEN Tenors, bring their Home for the Holidays tour to the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center on Monday, Dec. 2.
The concert, which was a late addition to the Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture’s 2019-20 MIAC Live lineup, is the final performance of the Institute’s fall season.
First formed in 1995, The TEN Tenors have headlined more than 2,000 concerts around the world, recorded 15 albums, released four DVDs and helped launch the careers of more than 50 current members and ensemble alumni.
The group has sold more than 3.5 million concert tickets and performed alongside some of music’s premier artists, including Lionel Richie, Rod Stewart, Andrea Boccelli, Willie Nelson, Alanis Morissette and Christina Aguilera. Their extensive television credits include appearances on The Today Show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.
The TEN Tenors have received nearly universal acclaim, with The New York Times saying their “unique mix of the traditional and unconventional offers a fresh and highly-original take on the staid traditions of opera.” The ensemble has also enjoyed commercial success, with several albums achieving Gold and Platinum status.
Tickets for The Ten Tenors: Home for the Holidays are $31 for adults, $26 for seniors and $21 for students and youth 12 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at miac.mercyhurst.edu or by calling the box office at 814-824-3000 Monday through Friday between noon and 5 p.m.
The 2019-20 MIAC Live series is made possible through the generosity of Scott Enterprises, Dr. & Mrs. Robert Guelcher, Aetna, the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority, and Cumulus Media.
