Fast Facts
- Graduates are prepared for employment in multiple heath care settings such as hospitals, private medical practices, home hospice care, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools, clinics, and rehabilitation facilities
The associate degree program prepares students for licensure as a practical nurse (PN)
Upon completion, graduates are eligible to write the PN National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as a practical nurse and begin their satisfying and successful career
Mercyhurst has a reputation for producing skilled, qualified, and hard working nurses, which is why we have a 100% job placement rate for our graduates
Some students return to our 2+2 nursing program which allows for transfer to the Erie campus after the first two years of study, and with help from our Internal Transfer Scholarships, they can possibly earn up to $18,000 in tuition grants.

Please note: All components of the Practical Nursing certificate program are offered exclusively at Mercyhurst’s instructional site in North East, Pennsylvania.
