Kelly Karns is a part-time instructor in the Mercyhurst University Education Department. Mrs. Karns began teaching at Mercyhurst as an adjunct professor in 2012, and became a part-time instructor in 2018. Before Mercyhurst University, Mrs. Karns taught at James S. Wilson Middle School in the Millcreek Township School District (2006-2014) as a learning support teacher and as a social studies teacher. Mrs. Karns received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary & Special Education from Mercyhurst University and her Master of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Gannon University. Mrs. Karns has served on the Mercyhurst University Alumni Board since 2016 and works to create meaningful connections between current Mercyhurst education students and alumni in the field of education by facilitating experiences like the Mercyhurst Student Teaching Mentoring Program and the annual Mercyhurst Education Networking Night.
