I could not imagine a career doing anything else but teaching.  I have been able to combine my nursing and military background together to become an educator.  I have been a nurse for almost thirty years and in higher education for fifteen years.  I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to serve my country and gain global experience.  I am a retired United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel.

My military and extensive worldwide experience has provided me with a background and knowledge of different cultures, health issues, political climates, health policy and determinants of health.  For that reason, I thoroughly enjoy teaching Public Health courses.  It is a natural fit for my skill set
