The D’Angelo Department of Music’s Summer Opera Intensive culminates Aug. 16 with a fully staged performance of Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio. Pirates have captured the beautiful Lady Constanze and her maid and sold them to the Pasha Selim for his harem. Learning of their “abduction,” Constanze’s fiancé and his manservant set out to rescue them. The rollicking comedy will be performed only once, on Sunday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall in Mercyhurst’s Hirt Academic Center.
