From the Latin word for “light” and “opening,” Lumen is Mercyhurst’s student literary and fine arts magazine. Once a journal for creative writing, Lumen has evolved into an interactive multimedia format combining visual art, music, dance, poetry and fiction. This year’s edition will be unveiled during the final event of the Mercyhurst Literary Festival on Thursday, April 19, at 8 p.m. in Taylor Little Theatre. The evening also features presentation of the P. Barry McAndrew Writing Awards and an open mic session for student works. The event is free and open to the public.
