The Mercyhurst Chamber Orchestra will present a collection of masterpieces from Mozart, Weber and Beethoven on Friday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. The concert will open with Mozart’s overture to the opera Idomeneo, an exciting tale of danger on the high seas and the consequences of ill-made promises. Music faculty member Rebecca Wunch will be featured as soloist on Weber’s Clarinet Concerto #2. The finale will be Beethoven’s 2nd Symphony, his last in the “classical” model, a work that is fun to play and full of beautiful moments. The program is free and open to the public. The Mercyhurst Chamber Orchestra is a community orchestra. Anyone interested in joining the group can contact director Jonathan Moser at firstname.lastname@example.org.
