Lecture: 'Wounded Grace and the Vulnerable Among Us'

Thursday September 26, 2019 - 7:00 pm
Walker Recital Hall
Cecilia Gonzalez-Andrieu, Ph.D., of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, will discuss immigration when she lectures at Mercyhurst University on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. Her presentation, titled “Wounded Grace and the Vulnerable Among Us,” explores “how the Christian tradition offers us tools so we may engage reality fully,” and answers the question “How do we better understand and work against attitudes that are destructive to the most vulnerable, especially immigrants and refugees, and that deface the image of God in Creation?” The talk is sponsored by the William C. Sennett Institute for Mercy & Catholic Studies, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It is free and open to the public.
