Documentary Film: Green Fire

Wednesday, December 3, 2014 - 7:00pm
Carolyn Herrmann Student Union

Mercyhurst University will screen the documentary film Green Fire on Dec. 3 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Wilderness Act. The 1964 law created the legal definition of “wilderness” and protected millions of acres of federal land, allowing public access to beautiful and natural spaces across the country. Green Fire, the first full-length documentary about legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold and his environmental legacy, will be shown in the Herrmann Student Union Great Room on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The Mercyhurst University Sustainability Office and Philosophy Department are partnering with the Evelyn Lincoln Institute for Ethics and Society to sponsor the film.
