Lively vessels and wall-mounted ceramics by Mercyhurst Professor Tom Hubert will fill Cummings Gallery at Mercyhurst from Nov. 5 through Dec. 11 in a show titled “Boogie Woogie in the Studio: Ceramics by Tom Hubert.” Hubert’s works are often inspired and influenced by music, and his signature style combines animated surface design with dynamic construction. A reception for the artist is planned Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery. It’s free and open to the public. Cummings Gallery is located in the lobby of the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center and is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.; closed Sunday. The gallery is also closed during Mercyhurst’s Thanksgiving break, Nov. 21-25. For information, contact gallery director Jessica Stadtmueller at 814-824-2092 or email@example.com.
