Anne of Green Gables
The Mercyhurst Theatre Program premieres a new stage adaptation of the classic novel Anne of Green Gables for four performances Aug. 23-26. Award-winning playwright and historian Mary Collins Barile wrote the script, based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s 1908 novel about the misadventures of a wildly independent orphan with fiery red hair and a temper to match. Guest director Dr. Doug Powers is staging his fifth production at Mercyhurst. See the show Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 23-25, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. in Taylor Little Theatre on the Mercyhurst campus. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors/students, and $5 for youths and Mercyhurst students with ID. Tickets go on sale Aug. 13, online at miac.mercyhurst.edu or by phone at 814-824-3000.
