Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics

The Mercyhurst University Department of Mathematics invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning August 2018.

Mercyhurst University is a fully accredited, four-year, Catholic, liberal arts institution founded in 1926 by the Sisters of Mercy, who worked hard to make the college and the Erie community a better place. The university is home to more than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students immersed in more than 50 undergraduate majors with 67 concentrations, as well as unique adult programs and nine graduate degrees. 

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 24 credits over the fall and spring semesters. Courses will be at or below the calculus level. Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching. The candidate will also be expected to participate in departmental work. A master’s degree in mathematics or a related field is required; a PhD is preferred.

Additional evidence of high standards of teaching, including syllabi and course evaluation data, is optional but encouraged. Applicant must be currently eligible to work in the United States.
