H1N1 Preparedness and Prevention

Mercyhurst College is taking steps to prevent the spread of the H1N1 flu and developing plans in case the flu would emerge at the college.

We are working closely with the Erie County and Pennsylvania health departments to monitor flu conditions and make decisions about the best steps to take.

Currently, we are doing everything we can to keep Mercyhurst operating as usual. Maintenance and housekeeping staffs are well prepared to maintain the healthiest conditions possible in public areas. Student, faculty, staff and visitors’ proactive self-care initiatives are a vital contribution in this effort.

No one can say what the course of this flu will be. If this year’s flu season becomes more severe, we may take additional steps to prevent the spread of the virus. Our goal is to keep the entire Mercyhurst community as healthy as possible.
