Assistantships
Mercyhurst College makes a limited number of assistantships available to graduate, post-baccalaureate, or second bachelor's degree (post-baccalaureate degree) students. The program includes:
- Tuition waiver
- Yearly stipend ($7,000, year one/$7,500 year two)*
- 25 hours of weekly work
- One-year appointments (renewable for one additional year based on mutual agreement of the student, employing department, and budget approval).
*Unless otherwise specified in the contract
Graduate Assistant Application deadline: June 30 for following academic year
Selection Process
Upon submission of a completed graduate assistantship application and acceptance into the program he/she has applied, the Office of Adult and Graduate Programs will screen all applicants according to academic background, work qualifications and area of preference for suitability with the various host departments. Appropriate applications will then be forwarded to each department for review, where the host departments will select those they wish to invite for interview. All applicants will be notified by phone or in writing if they have been selected to interview for the graduate assistant position.
