Ambassador Club
Mission

Amnesty International
Mission
Amnesty International is an independent, worldwide movement working impartially for the release of all prisoners of conscience (men, women, and children imprisoned because of their beliefs, ethnic origins, sex, race, or language, provided that they have neither used or advocated violence), fair and prompt trials for political prisoners, and the abolition of torture and executions under all circumstances. It is independent of any political, ideological, or religious affiliations and is funded by donations from its members and supporters around the world.

Circle K
Mission
The objects of this organization shall be to emphasis the advantages of the democratic way of life, to provide the opportunity for leadership training in service, to serve on the campus and in the community, to cooperate with the administrative officers of the educational institutions of which clubs are a part, to encourage participation in group activities, to promote good fellowship and high scholarship, to develop aggressive citizenship and the spirit of service for improvement of all human relationships, to afford useful training in the social graces and personality development, and to encourage and promote the following ideals: to give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life, to encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships, to promote the adoption and the application of high social, business, and professional standards, to develop by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship, to provide through Circle K a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities, and to cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism, which makes possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Colleges Against Cancer (formally Relay for Life Team of Mercyhurst College)
Mission
This purpose of Colleges Against Cancer will act in accordance with the philosophy of Relay for Life: “The American Cancer Society Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be sported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.” This team will aim to support those objectives. The team will complete fundraising activities throughout the year, prepare for and attend a Relay event in the spring, and work to educate the community about cancer.

Habitat for Humanity
Mission
The basic goal of the Mercyhurst College campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, hereafter referred to as Habitat, is to work in partnership with people in need, belonging to any religion, race, gender, national origin, and sexual orientation, to improve the conditions in which they live. To meet this goal Habitat seeks to work with the local affiliate, other campus chapters, the International headquarters, and on various sponsored projects, work in cooperation with people in need to create a better human habitat in which to live, and work and provide social services to the community.

Mission
The purpose of Mercyhurst Empowerment of Women (M.E.O.W.) shall be to strive for gender equality for both males and females socially, economically, and politically. In keeping with the Mercy tradition, this organization aims to uphold our core values of being globally responsible and socially merciful. While striving to incorporate the college’s values, M.E.O.W. honors the vision of the Sisters of Mercy by promoting positive images of both genders and aims to raise awareness on campus about current gender issues on a local, national, and global scale.

Mission
The purpose of Mercyhurst Public Speaking & Leadership Club (MPSLC) shall be to enhance the public speaking ability of members thru regularly scheduled speeches, presentations, and speaking roles. The mission of the Pathfinders Club is to project a positive image of the Army ROTC program that is offered at Mercyhurst College through Gannon University. The club’s goal is to support the college values and the Army’s values. It is important to always properly represent the Army, the ROTC program, and Mercyhurst College at all times, both on and off campus.

Peace & Justice Coalition
Mission
The purpose of the Peace & Justice Coalition shall be to serve as a way of gathering allof the clubs and organizations on campus that are peace, justice, or diversity centered. The clubs will be able to collaborate on projects, share what they are doing, discuss events, and gain mutual support. The Peace & Justice Coalition may host a retreat for the leaders of all the clubs involved which would serve as an excellent way to disuss each clubs future plans and how the othe clubs could help with their endeavors.

Project Abolition
Mission
Project Abolition shall be a gathering of modern-day abolitionists who strive to do their part to end slavery in the 21st century. The group will work to raise awareness of modern-day slavery, specifically the human trafficking trade, and to raise funds to combat slavery.

Rotaract
Mission
The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. The goals of Rotaract are to develop professional and leadership skills, to emphasize respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual, to recognize the dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportunities to serve, to recognize practice, and promote ethical standards as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities, to develop knowledge and understanding of the needs, problems, and opportunities in the community and worldwide, and to provide opportunities for personal and group activities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill toward all people.

Student Activities Council (SAC)
Mission
The purpose of SAC shall be to provide weekend programming for as many members of the College community as possible; to provide social, educational, recreational, and cultural events; to provide on-campus events as part of the student activities fee; to offer activities and events as alternatives to alcohol consumption; to provide a minimum of one off-campus trip per term, in conjunction with an on-campus event; and to work with Mercyhurst Student Government (MSG), students, and other Recognized Student Clubs/Organizations on campus to coordinate events and activities.

TOMS Mercyhurst Campus Club
Mission
The purpose of the TOMS Mercyhurst Campus Club shall be to raise awareness and work in conjunction with the TOMS Shoes organization and its One for One Movement, which provides shoes to children in underdeveloped countries.
