CDC on the Portal
Information about the CDC can be found on our Portal page. You can direct your students there to find information about our services, our internship program, and documents/guides for resumes and the job search.
Services for your Students
We would be happy to give a presentation in your class geared toward the students’ major or a topic of your choice.
Presentations
We are available to discuss topics such as the internship process (this is especially important for academic programs that require an internship), resume building, the job search process and the job market, interview tips, etc. Keep us in mind if you know in advance that you have to cancel a class; we would be happy to fill that class time with a presentation for your students!
Workshops
We can teach students how to properly use social networking sites (Facesbook, LinkedIn, Twitter) and our own job and internship website, called CareerConnect. We would even be happy to show your department how to use CareerConnect so they can better advise their students.
Internships
For those students wishing to receive credit for internship work, you should direct them to the CDC in Egan 123. There is paperwork to be filled out for the student to obtain departmental approval as well as provide a job description to his/her Career Counselor. The counselors in our office coordinate the internships, providing a syllabus of assignments for the course. Only a Career Counselor can register a student for an internship.
