Each student living in campus housing is assigned a mailbox. Students receive their mail in the boxes located in Preston Hall and the Herrmann Student Union. Students will receive a mailbox before coming to Mercyhurst for the fall term. Any student who has not been assigned a mailbox should go to the Preston Mailroom at the beginning of the term to be assigned one. The mailbox that students receive as freshmen will be their mailbox for the entire time they live on campus. If a student leaves campus housing, but plans to return at a later date, the Preston Hall mailroom must be informed so that the box number can be held.
Stamps are sold in the Preston Hall Mailroom and the Student Union. Packages can be mailed, but there are many restrictions set up by the United States Postal Service. The mailroom does not provide any special services such as insured or registered mail. Neither checks nor Campus Cards can be used for mailroom services. Preston Hall Mailroom does have sealing tape and labels for packages.
When a student receives a package, a note will be placed in the proper mailbox. The note and student ID must be brought to the Preston Hall Mailroom to pick up the package.
Mail sent to a student at the College should be addressed as follows:
