Open Staff/Administrator Positions

    The Admissions Counselor will be responsible for traveling extensively for recruitment and managing a geographic territory; conducting oral presentations about Mercyhurst to a variety of constituents, including prospective students and parents, school counselors, and college personnel; reviewing applications and scholarship considerations; developing and maintaining individual recruitment files/records; assisting prospective students with admission and financial aid; awarding of financial aid to prospective students; participating in on-campus and regional college events; working weeknights and weekends as needed; independently managing admission initiatives; and performing other duties as assigned by director.     The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is instrumental in the recruitment of prospects for graduate school. The Assistant Director will assist students applying for these programs from the application process through enrollment.     Mercyhurst University is seeking an Admissions Counselor to join a dynamic and energetic Office of Undergraduate Admissions team. Responsibilities include acting as the primary point of contact for international students throughout the admissions process, responding to inquiries, and providing accurate information about university programs, admission requirements, and application procedures; collaborating with international recruitment partners, high schools, and educational agencies to promote university programs and opportunities; assisting with international admissions application processing (undergraduate and graduate), including outreach, document review, credential evaluation, and application completion; assisting students in obtaining and submitting necessary documentation, such as transcripts, test scores, and financial statements; serving in the capacity of Designated School Official (DSO), assisting in maintaining university compliance with government regulations regarding international students; advising international students regarding immigration and visa regulations to assist them in complying with federal regulations governing their legal status while studying in the U.S.; updating and maintaining the Department of Homeland Security Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) for active F-1 students and coordinating institutional compliance actions and reporting.     The Department of Biology at Mercyhurst University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Biology at the level of Assistant Professor to begin August 2024. The ideal candidate will be prepared to instruct a wide range of undergraduate courses in biology for both science and non-science majors at the introductory and upper level. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise and teaching experience in ecology, environmental science, and/or organismal biology.     The Visiting Assistant Professor of Modern History teaches 12 credits per semester in modern history at the undergraduate level. Courses may include World History 2, European History 2, U.S. History 2, and classes in the hire’s area of specialty. Open Hurst Athletics Positions

    The Assistant Women’s Field Hockey Coach is responsible for participating in various aspects of the program, such as recruiting, scheduling opponents, and training squad members, and abiding by the rules and regulations established by Mercyhurst University, the PSAC, and NCAA. This position will recruit, train, and coach members of the lacrosse program, as well as monitor academic progress, academic meetings, class scheduling, and attendance.     The assistant coach will assist with all aspects of an NCAA Division II Football Program. This includes scouting, recruiting, coordinating travel, managing budgets, planning, and conducting training sessions; game-day responsibilities; camp creation and implementation; working with other members of the athletic department; and community outreach. The assistant coach will assist in monitoring the academic progress, health, and wellness of all student-athletes participating in the football program. Lastly, the assistant coach must also attend coaches’ clinics, workshops, conventions, and continuing NCAA rules and regulation trainings to stay current.
