New works by 59 members of the Northwest Pennsylvania Artists Association are on display in Cummings Gallery at Mercyhurst University for the summer months.
“Art on the Hill” features works by a diverse group of active artists in the region, who display artwork in all media including painting, ceramics, photography and mixed media. The exhibition continues through Aug. 7.
Visitors to the gallery can enjoy a wide variety of artworks with imagery ranging from abstract to realistic. The show includes watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, as well as mixed media works incorporating fiber, wood, metal and repurposed materials. Rounding out the exhibit are cast glass snowflakes and handmade jewelry. There is something for everyone.
The public is invited to join the artists at a free reception on Thursday, June 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery.
Now in its 42nd year, the NPAA organizes several exhibits each year for its 144 members, annually donates college scholarship monies to local graduating high school seniors, and generally promotes the visual arts in the tri-county community.
Cummings Gallery, located in the lobby of the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center, is open during the summer Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
