The Morning Call - Mercyhurst Forensics Team

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

A team of forensic science faculty and students from Mercyhurst University is examining human bones discovered recently along Route 61 in Schuylkill County. The remains are believed to be those of victims of a mass epidemic of Spanish flu dating back a century. Mercyhurst's Dr. Alexandra Klales, who led the team in recovery efforts at the site and in examining the bones back at the Mercyhurst lab, is interviewed in this report in The Morning Call: Bones unearthed during road project may be Spanish flu victims.
