Those looking for a change of pace from the typical weeknight dinner can get an elegant four-course meal through the 2015 International Dining Series from the Culinary & Wine Institute of Mercyhurst North East.
The four-course dinners spotlight cuisine from around the United States and the globe, including North Carolina pork kabob with pineapple salsa, cilantro rice and green beans in “Southern Charm” on Oct. 22; grilled sirloin steak with Dauphinoise potatoes and garlic broccolini in “Tour of the East Coast” on Oct. 29; linguine with lobster sauce and mussels in “Tour of Tuscany” on Nov. 19; and pan-seared duck breast with a cherry port sauce in “French Provincial” on Dec. 3.

As in past years, students in Mercyhurst North East’s culinary program run every aspect of the meals, from the planning to the preparation to the service, which provides excellent experience in the culinary and hospitality industry.
Dinners are $30 per person (including tax) and are held at Lake View Country Club, 8352 Station Road (Route 89) in North East; memberships are not required. Seating begins at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. A full cash bar is available.
