Mercyhurst University has been ranked among the nation’s best colleges for master’s degrees in human resources, according to College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources.
The 2016 rankings, released today, identify 40 U.S. colleges and universities, topped by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by Texas A & M and the University of Wisconsin. Mercyhurst is one of five colleges in Pennsylvania to earn the recognition, the others being Villanova University, University of Pittsburgh, La Roche College and Temple University.
Human resource managers are invaluable members of any team, particularly in business, according to College Choice. These well-trained professionals use their knowledge of psychology and management to build a strong workforce. As human resource managers become more in demand, so too does the demand grow for graduate programs that can prepare students for challenging workplace environments.
“That fact has led to the creation of this ranking,” College Choice stated in today's notification.
The Walker College of Business at Mercyhurst, led by Dean Missy Breckenridge, offers a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in human resources. It also provides a graduate certificate in human resources.
College Choice curated its 2016 ranking for Best Masters in Human Resources Degree Programs by collecting information from individual school websites, other ranking sites, and the U.S. News and World Report site. Factors that were among the main considerations for this ranking included academic reputation, student retention, networking and internship opportunities.
