Some traditions never go stale and certainly Mercyhurst University’s holiday party for local children, known as the Miracle on 38th Street, tops that list of oldies but goodies.
On Monday, Dec. 8, beginning at 3 p.m., more than 50 children from area agencies will converge on the Carolyn Herrmann Student Union, each partnering with a Mercyhurst “buddy,” as they engage in a holiday extravaganza of storytelling, sing-a-long and dance performances, games, treats and, of course, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Besides entertaining Erie youngsters, the event will give Mercyhurst students a break from studying for finals as they create a memorable experience for all to enjoy, said Preston Reilly, activities and spirit coordinator.
Miracle on 38th Street is sponsored by the Campus Involvement Center, Service Learning, Campus Ministry, the Marion Shane Multicultural Center and Mercyhurst Student Government.
