The National Collegiate Athletic Association has announced that Mercyhurst University will host the NCAA Division II Super Region I Wrestling Championships in both 2016 and 2017.

Mercyhurst earned the right to host the NCAA Division II Super Region I tournament from Feb. 26-29, 2016, and again from Feb. 24-27, 2017. Both tournaments will be held at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

"We're excited to be given the opportunity to host the wrestling regionals in 2016 and 2017," said Mercyhurst University Director of Athletics Joe Kimball. "Any time you get to host an event like this, nothing but positives come from it. It gives our program, our school, and our city greater recognition and publicity."
