Mercyhurst Model UN takes first place honors

The Mercyhurst College Model UN, coached by Dr. Michele Crumley, won the First Place Team Award in the first 2007-08 Mid-Atlantic Model UN Conference held on Saturday, Sept. 22. A consortium of colleges, including St. Bonaventure (recipients of the 2nd Place Team Award), Lakeland Community College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Mercyhurst debated the topic of global warming.

Several Mercyhurst students received individual recognition. Matt Visco earned the only “Superior” award of the day while Adam Hammer, Sarah Rudawitz, Mike Cilladi, Amanda Greenland, Ian Michalski, Marcus Reed, Cameron Sabel, and Keith Weigel earned the award of “Excellence.” Tim Raley served as chairperson of the competition.
