Business students team with Backyard Burgers

Members of the Mercyhurst College Business Club are taking a new fundraiser with Backyard Burgers into their own backyard looking for support.

During the month of April, club members will be passing out coupons for menu items at Backyard Burgers, 1010 Peninsula Drive. The restaurant, owned by Mercyhurst HRIMalumnus Paul Fedorko and Sean Taylor, will donate 10 percent of the revenue derived from coupon purchases to the business club. The coupons may be used between Sunday, April 22, and Saturday, April 28.

All Mercyhurst students, staff, administration, family and friends are invited to join the cause, according to organizer Jill Slomski, assistant professor of marketing, whose advertising administration class is competing to design a marketing plan for the local franchise.

Slomski’s students recently had lunch at the restaurant where Fedorko and Taylor discussed the restaurant vision and plans for the future.
