Mercyhurst raises $6,963 for WQLN

Mercyhurst College helped raise $6,963 for WQLN-FM during the fall fund-raising drive.

Mercyhurst and the four other area coleges competed in the 4th annual Collegiate Challenge.

Mercyhurst raised more than $1,100 above last year's total of $5,885, an increase of 18.3 percent.

It was not enough, though, to win the challenge.

Edinboro University of Pennsylvania raised $17,500, an increase of 49 percent; Allegheny raised $14,630, an increase of 30 percent; Gannon raised $11,615, an increase of 27.6 percent; and Penn State Behrend raised $13,270, an increase of 2.7 percent.

WQLN exceeded its overall goal of $80,000 by raising $83,000.

Thanks go to everyone who donated for Mercyhurst or who volunteered on Mercyhurst's day for the challenge.
