Mercyhurst nominates three for Goldwater scholarships

Mercyhurst College, through its prestigious awards committee, has nominated three students for Barry M. Goldwater scholarships. The nominees, all juniors, are Gloria Emberger, chemistry major and computational science minor; John McIlroy, forensic science major; and Allison Rexroth, archaeology major.

Established by Congress in 1986 to foster and encourage excellence in science and mathematics, the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation operates an educational scholarship program designed to provide opportunities for American undergraduate students with excellent academic records and outstanding potential in the fields of mathematics, engineering and the natural sciences.

Recipients will be announced in the spring.
