Author Randall Silvis visits Mercyhurst College

Author Randall Silvis will speak about the writing process and his newest book during an appearance at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in the Mercy Heritage Room in Sullivan Hall at Mercyhurst College. 

After answering questions from the audience, Silvis will also sign copies of “On Night’s Shore.”

Silvis is the author of six books, most recently “On Night’s Shore,” a suspense novel that features a young journalist named Edgar Allen Poe. He has been honored with a Drue Hienz Literature Prize, three National Playwrights Showcase awards and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. Currently Silvis is a faculty member at Seton Hill College and Antioch University. He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife and two sons.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

The lecture by Silvis is being sponsored by the English department, the Humanities division and the Creative Writing program as part of the college’s 75th anniversary celebration.
