Birth of a Nation Alison Ollinger-Riefstahl and her class celebrate Black History Month with a presentation on “African Americans in Films: Evolutions of Stereotypes.” Join them on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. in Alex Theatre at Mercyhurst North East as they present and discuss a selection of African American stars of film from its early stages through the contemporary era. They’ll consider how roles and opportunities for black artists in film have changed, while looking at some of the pivotal moments in film history when these evolutions occurred.
