Mercyhurst North East liberal arts student Noldon Starks will host a free screening of his film Outcast. The film, which he wrote and co-directed, premiered at the 2013 Cleveland International Film Festival and outlines his experience living with Joubert syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects balance, coordination and speech. Starks partnered with teaching artists Jen Poland and Evan Lieberman to create the 10-minute film during a summer internship with ArtWorks, an arts-based jobs program facilitated by Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio. He'll show the film Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. in the Alex Theatre on the North East campus. Read more.
