Mercyhurst University will welcome 14 new members to its full-time Erie faculty when the 2014-15 academic year begins in August.
“Once again we are blessed to welcome a new cohort of faculty, bringing a uniqueness that will enhance both the depth and breadth of academic quality already in place at Mercyhurst,” said Phillip Belfiore, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs. “We look forward to the future.”
Three Mercyhurst graduates are among the new arrivals, including Gena Kost, M.A. instructor of world languages; Kathleen Moore, Ph.D., assistant professor of intelligence studies; and Scott Michel, Ph.D. (ABD), instructor of athletic training.
Two former faculty members are also returning to campus after absences of several years: Nathan Hess, D.M.A., assistant professor of music, and Alexandra Luce, Ph.D., visiting instructor of intelligence studies.
Other new Erie faculty members include Paul Ashcraft, Ph.D., lecturer of physics; Christopher Dolanc, Ph.D., and Mike Foulk, Ph.D., assistant professors of biology; Robin Duke, M.S., and Holly Jodon, M.P.A.S., assistant professors of physician assistant studies; James B. Lohrey, M.A., assistant professor of communication; Dipankar Rai, Ph.D., assistant professor of marketing; Benjamin Scharff, Ph.D., assistant professor of history; and Tibor Solymosi, Ph.D., assistant professor of philosophy.
Six new instructors are also joining the faculty of the McAuley College of Associate Degree Studies on the North East campus. The nursing program welcomes instructors Shawn Russell, M.S.; Cate Stiller, Ph.D.; Nicole Moore, M.S.N.; and Michelle Lingle, M.S.N. Tricia Mahoney, M.S., has been named instructor and clinical coordinator for the physical therapist assistant program, and Michael Szymanowski, M.A., joins the business, mathematics and computer systems faculty.
