Human Resources Payroll/Data Entry Specialist

Summary

Mercyhurst University, a Catholic institution in the Mercy tradition is seeking qualified candidates for the Human Resources Payroll/Data Entry Specialist position.  Successful candidates will have experience in: processing payroll utilizing web based systems; processing payroll reports; responding to employee inquiries; and communicating with supervisors and employees regarding discrepancies.  Candidate will also be detail oriented and have experience in data management, especially in ensuring appropriate data is entered in system and in maintaining the integrity of the data through inspection, reconciliation, and monitoring.  Candidate will be responsible for generating reports from the system for end users

 

Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Two to three years of payroll experience.  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.  Possess effective interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, and attention to detail.  Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Access.  Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague systems is preferred. Candidates without prior Colleague or similar system experience must be willing and able to attend appropriate trainings to learn systems. Prior Human Resource experience strongly preferred.  Must be able to work well with a diverse population and be able to work independently with minimal direction.
