Scott is in his first year of teaching here at Mercyhurst.  Prior to arriving to Mercyhurst, Scott served as the Program Director of Athletic Training Education (2013-2014) and Visiting Faculty of Kinesiology at Albion College from 2011-2014.  From 2004-2011 he practiced clinically serving as the Head Athletic Trainer at Kalamazoo College.  During his tenure there he also served as an adjunct faculty in Western Michigan University's Undergraduate AT Program.  He has served on numerous leadership committees within campus life as well as having served as an executive board member for Safe Kids of Kalamazoo County.  Additionally, he has served as the President of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Sports Medicine Committee and spent 13 years as the Medical Chair of Athletic Trainers for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) 18 & 16 Junior National Tennis Championships.  He has previously presented at both the state and district level within the profession of Athletic Training, and most recently has presented nationally at the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education (AABHE) and the Association of Study of Higher Education (ASHE) national conferences.  He has been the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award and the Director’s Award for his work with the USTA Nationals.

His research interests surround the dynamics of cross-cultural mentoring relationships and White male privilege.
