Dr. Pajo's major research focus is psychiatric medication use among young children and how parents determine when to use medication. Specifically, she focuses on the relationship between the available “time” parents have to spend with their children and their willingness to medicate ADHD-like behaviors.
Dr. Bora Pajo joined the Mercyhurst faculty as assistant professor of Sociology and Social Work in 2012. Born and raised in Tirana, Albania, she graduated from the law school at the Universiteti i Tiranës in 2002 then moved to New York City to pursue graduate studies in anthropology and sociology at St. John's University.
In 2006, she moved to Miami where she continued graduate studies in comparative sociology before entering the doctoral program in Social Work at Robert Stempel School of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University.
Dr. Pajo teaches Introduction to Social Statistics, Research Methods, Human Needs and Global Problems, and Human Growth and Development.
