At 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, Mercyhurst dancers will lead fellow students, faculty and members of the Erie community in Water Dance Erie at Dobbins Landing. Similar events will be occurring simultaneously at venues across America as National Water Dance strives to raise awareness of water-related issues. Following the opening performance, the dancers will lead a procession to the Erie Maritime Museum and Blasco Library, where the event will continue with more artistic performances; presentations of research on plastics pollution of the Great Lakes by Mercyhurst’s Dr. Amy Parente and Fredonia State’s Dr. Sam Mason; and displays and activities by local environmental organizations. All are invited to add to “The Ripple Effect” and join the collaboration to raise awareness of water quality issues.
