Postponed: Faculty Recital Series: Jonathan Moser, Violin

Violinist Jonathan Moser, assistant professor of music and director of the Mercyhurst Civic Orchestra, has had to cancel his Feb. 25 recital in Walker Recital Hall due to a hand injury. The event, part of the D’Angelo Department of Music Faculty Recital Series, is expected to be rescheduled later this spring.

The D’Angelo Department of Music Faculty Recital Series continues Sunday, Feb. 25, with a violin performance by Jonathan Moser, accompanied by Dr. Nathan Hess on piano. Titled “Warm Music for a Winter Day,” the program will include the Hindemith Sonata for Solo Violin, Op. 31 No. 2; the Beethoven Violin Sonata No. 7 in C minor, Op. 30, No. 2; the Prokofiev Violin Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 80; and Tchaikovsky’s Valse-Scherzo, Op. 34. The program begins at 4 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall, located inside Mercyhurst’s Hirt Academic Center, and is free and open to the public. For more information, call 814-824-2394.
