The Mercyhurst University D’Angelo Opera Theater presents scenes from Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. Urged on by his drinking buddies, Hoffmann recounts the stories of the fascinating women who captured his heart. The Opera Theatre will presents three scenes, each representing an aspect of Hoffmann's "ideal women" - a beautiful French doll, a dying singer and a courtesan. Well-known numbers from this opera include "The Doll Song" and "The Barcarolle." General admission is $5, and tickets for Mercyhurst students and faculty are $2.
