Join us for an intimate evening of music as we lift up the curtains, and put the audience on stage with the artist. Recently seen in Carnegie Hall paying tribute to Paul Simon, Ben Sollee shares himself completely with his audience. Known for his thrilling cello playing that incorporates new techniques to create a unique mix of folk, calypso, bluegrass, jazz and R&B, Sollee possesses rough-smooth-smoky vocal stylings and a knack for intricate arrangements that has brought about comparisons to Sufjan Stevens. Sollee has been seen touring with multi-Grammy winner Bela Fleck and has collaborated with My Morning Jacket, Abigail Washburn, Jeremy Kittel (formerly of the Turtle Island String Quartet), Alana Rocklin and Jordon Ellis.
Arrive early and enjoy complimentary beer tastings from Lavery Brewing Company, the official brewery of MIAC, and music from local band The Heliotropes.
Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $20 for youth and students. For tickets, call 814-824-3000 or visit miac.mercyhurst.edu.
